Catholic Central Orientations for the 2026-2027 School Year

Freshman Orientation One

Date: Thursday, August 20, 2026

Start Time: 9:00 a.m.

Drop-off Location: The CAT – 2770 Knapp St NE, 49525

Students can be dropped off beginning at 8:30 a.m. and will gather in the lobby of The CAT complex until the event begins at 9:00 a.m.

Event Includes:

  • Meeting classmates and upperclassmen leaders
  • Introduction to the house system
  • Team bonding with members of their house
  • Tour of athletic and academic facilities
  • Transportation by bus to CC’s downtown campus
  • Lunch
  • Introduction to faculty and staff members
  • Mass
  • Food
  • And more!

What to Bring:

  • Students attending the event should wear comfortable, appropriate clothing that is easy to move around in. Athletic shoes are highly recommended.
  • We will be outside, weather permitting, so applying sunscreen ahead of time is also recommended.
  • A water bottle with your student's name clearly written on it so that it can be filled throughout the day is a great idea.

Parent Invitation:

Parents are invited and encouraged to join their children for Mass beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Andrew (215 Sheldon Blvd SE, 49503), followed by a meal for all incoming students and their parents at 4:30 p.m. on the mall in front of Catholic Central.

Conclusion of Event:

Students will be free to leave with a parent any time after Mass has concluded (around 4:30 p.m.) at our Downtown Campus (319 Sheldon Blvd SE, 49503).

Freshman Orientation Two

Date: Monday, August 24, 2026

Start Time: 9:00 a.m.

Location: Catholic Central's Downtown Campus (319 Sheldon Blvd SE, 49503)

Students can be dropped off beginning at 8:30 a.m. and will gather in the outdoor mall area in front of CC until the event begins at 9:00 a.m.

Event Includes:

  • Schedule distribution
  • Addresses from a variety of administrators and academic departments
  • Schedule run-through
  • iPad distribution

What to Bring:

  • Students should be in full Catholic Central uniform on this day.
  • They may want to have a small bag with a notebook and writing utensils to write down any important information they hear throughout the morning.

Conclusion of Event:

Freshmen will be finished with their orientation at 11:30 a.m. and can be picked up at the Downtown Campus at that time.

Transfer Student (Grades 10–12) Orientation

Date: Thursday, August 20, 2026

Start Time: 1:00 p.m.

Drop-off Location: Downtown Campus (319 Sheldon Blvd SE, 49503)

Students can arrive beginning at 12:45 p.m. and will gather in the main office of Catholic Central to meet up with their orientation leaders for the day.

Event Includes:

  • Meeting classmates and upperclassmen leaders
  • Introduction to the house system
  • Team bonding with members of their house
  • Introduction to faculty and staff members
  • Mass
  • Food
  • And more!

What to Bring:

Students attending the event should wear comfortable, appropriate clothing that is easy to move around in.

Upperclassmen Grade-Level Orientation

Date: Monday, August 24, 2026

All students should be in full Catholic Central uniform and should bring their iPad for their orientation time. Any students here early may wait in the Student Center for their orientation time.

Seniors

Time: 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Location: Begin in Coram Deo Rooms with Freshmen

Juniors

Time: 12:45–1:45 p.m.

Location: Begin in Gym

Sophomores

Time: 2:00–3:00 p.m.

Location: Begin in Gym
