Catholic Central is the oldest co-educational diocesan Catholic high school in the United States.
Since our founding in 1906, we have been proud to provide a Catholic education in Grand Rapids, Michigan, a culturally rich environment where our students learn to live the Dominican pillars. At the core of every lesson is the school’s commitment to forming servant leaders — through prayer, study, service, and community.
At Catholic Central we are committed to eliminating cost as a barrier to enrollment. Every family pays less than 100% of the full cost to educate their child thanks to our generous donors, parish subsidies, and need- and merit-based scholarships.
Competition grows camaraderie at our innovative facilities.
Our state-of-the-art athletic campus, formally known as Cougar Athletic Trails but simply called “the CAT” by our CC community, features a large stadium with a turf field, concessions, seating for 3,500, and a capacity of 10,000 spectators.
Heart of the City
We have been committed to this neighborhood for over a century.
Catholic Central includes a primary academic campus located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. Our location provides opportunities for students to serve, explore, and experience our vibrant community.
Rooted in Faith
Every day, we live out our mission to form dedicated servant leaders.
A Catholic Central education is distinguished by our commitment to the four Dominican pillars: prayer, study, service, and community. These tenants guide students, faculty, and staff through a dynamic, faith-based educational experience.
modern Campus
We have a strong tradition of providing an experience that is beyond belief.
In 2018, the school completed the largest capital campaign in the school’s history, providing a LEED-certified Student Center, a LEED-certified STEAM Center, beautiful new choir and band rooms, and more.
diverse student body
Our student body reflects the diversity of our community.
We embrace the rich and dynamic contribution of students and those we serve, and strive to ensure that all students, faculty, and staff feel they are valued members of our community.
Catholic Central encourages student exploration of science and technology, rooted in faith and promoting positive, lasting change. Through our STEM certification, Career Connections, internship program, service learning, and entrepreneurship, CC is adapting to meet the needs of a changing world.
The AMDG Inclusion program is designed to offer academic, social, emotional, and spiritual support to students with physical and intellectual disabilities. One of the unique facets of the program is the peer mentor component, which allows students to receive one-to-one support within the classroom from a trained upperclassman.
