HOMECOMING  INFORMATION - We are excited to invite you to Catholic Central Homecoming 2024! The leadership team has been hard at work planning your special night. The theme of this year’s Homecoming is Groovy Nights and Neon Lights, come out to enjoy a night in the 80’s!

  • Date : September 21, 2024
  • Time : 8pm-11pm, Doors close at 9pm
  • Where: The CAT (2770 Knapp St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525)
  • Open to: 10th-12th grade Catholic Central students and guests with a guest pass
  • Guest Passes: can be picked up in the main office, due Friday, September 13th
  • Ticket Cost: $20 per person with cash or check made out to Catholic Central
  • Ticket Sales: Lunches Tuesday 9/17 - Friday 9/20 All tickets must be purchased by Friday, September 20. some text
    • If paying for your ticket to homecoming is a financial concern, please contact Ms. Green, Mrs. Joynt, or your counselor for assistance. We do not want financial concern to be a barrier to enjoying this night with your classmates. 

Theme days

  • Wednesday 9/18 - Full Uniform: Mass Day
  • Thursday 9/19 - Twin/Triplet Day
  • Friday 9/20 - 80’s Day

All students must be appropriate and meet the guidelines laid out in the student handbook. No leggings (unless under shorts), bare midriffs, or references to politics, drugs or alcohol are allowed at any time.

STUDENT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM - NEW this Year, the Student Ambassador Program is open to all 10th-12th grade students, this program offers a unique blend of opportunities and perks tailored to elevate your high school experience. As a Student Ambassador, you'll gain invaluable leadership opportunities, exclusive CC swag, and the chance to represent your school during a variety of events. Plus, enjoy special out-of-uniform days and FOOD among other exciting benefits. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to lead, inspire, and make a lasting impact both within and beyond our school community. An Informational Focus Time session is scheduled for Tuesday, 9/24 with Mr. Hubert on the 2nd floor of the Student Center. Sign up to learn more! 

COUGAR CAFE -  The Cougar Cafe is open for business this week! They sell coffee, iced coffee, hot and cold tea, and smoothies. They will also have donuts on FRIDAYS only. Right now they are a cash only business (they are working on different options), so make sure you have some money with you. The prices that you see on the TV screens are correct, except for the donuts which will be $1.50 this year. If you have any questions, please stop by room S127. The cafe is located on the second floor right next to the athletic office.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC TRIP Dominican Republic Mission Trip 2025 - Juniors and Seniors interested in serving with Adelante Youth Mission and CCHS are invited to complete this application no later than Sunday, September 29.  Questions?  Contact Deacon Rybicki or Mrs.Smitley

STUDENTS FOR LIFE - Are you interested in joining a club or extracurricular? Take a look at Catholic Central’s very own Students for Life club! Students For Life is a Pro-Life group where all grades come together to speak up and fight for babies who don’t have a chance at life due to abortion. Students For Life creates different activities in order to fundraise for the mothers and babies in need of our help. Every year, students take a trip to Washington D.C. to participate in The National March For Life. We take a stand and speak up for those voices that can’t be heard and their mothers. If you are interested please find the email from Mrs. Lambert regarding your interest in joining the trip this January. If you are interested in joining our club, please reach out to Mrs. Lambert. 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - Retriever Fever is a free community event and fundraiser for Paws With A Cause where people bring their dogs to have a friendly competition on who is the top dog…a Golden Retriever or the Labrador Retriever! Volunteers are needed to help set up the day of the event, Saturday, September 21, 8am-10am to set up tables, chairs, and tents at Riverside Park. TUTORING - Tutoring will begin this week in the Library. Morning tutoring is Tuesday, Wed, Thursday from 7-8 (English/Social Studies focus). Afternoon tutoring is Monday, Tuesday, Wed, Thursday from 3-4 in the library; math and science teachers are tutoring but students can get help with anything they need help with. All students are welcome to walk in when support is needed.

STEAM OPPORTUNITY - Mary Free Bed is offering Health Career Seminars. Once you attend a seminar session, you are able to complete a 4 hour job shadow experience. This experience will count for STEAM hours and you must be 16 or older to participate. Please see this FLIER for additional information. CATHOLIC CHARITIES CHAMPIONS - If you are over 16 and are looking for a way to make a difference in the West Michigan community please consider applying to be a Catholic Charities Champion for the 24-25 school year.  If you would like more information click this link or stop by 501 to talk with Mrs. Perry. The deadline for applications is Sep 20, 2024. 

COLLEGE FAIRS - Mark your calendars to learn more about a variety of colleges and universities!

  • The annual Holland Area College Night will be held at Hope College TONIGHT on Tuesday, September 17 from 6:00–7:30 p.m. at their DeVos Fieldhouse. Students from all over West Michigan will be there to get to know over 60 colleges, meet the admissions representatives, and learn more about financial aid.Interested students should register for a barcode before the fair at StriveFair.com. During the fair, college reps will scan those barcodes to send them more information about their college. The day after the fair, students will receive a report with information on the colleges they met with.
  • GR Christian College Fair - Monday, September 23, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Cornerstone University - Register here.
  • Notre Dame on the Road - Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 7:00 PM at GR Catholic Central HS - Register here.  NOTE: ND will not be visiting CCHS during the school day.  Students interested in ND are encouraged to attend this evening event.
  • Service Academy Night (Coast Guard/Merchant Marine/ Air Force/Naval/ West Point) - Wednesday, October 15, 2024, from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Gerald R Ford Museum.  No registration required.
