ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR TUESDAY, JANUARY 7, 2025

LANYARD REMINDER - This Friday, January 10, we will be doing a lanyard and keycard check to make sure that all students have their lanyards and that the keycards are correctly assigned. Please make every effort to remember your lanyard everyday, but especially this Friday.

COUGARS VS. CANCER BASKETBALL - The Girls and Boys basketball teams are holding a Pink Out basketball game on Friday, January 17. They are selling T-shirts to raise money for Gilda’s Club, a local cancer charity. Stop by the table at lunch, scan the QR code, and order your shirt today.

BLOOD DRIVE - January 31, 2025 is the next CC blood drive. If you are 16 or older you are encouraged to give others the gift of life since one blood donation can help up to three people. Also, those who donate/volunteer a certain number of times qualify for a special red cord that is worn at graduation. Please sign up here if you would like to donate: Versiti Blood Center of Michigan - Donor Portal  or see Mrs. Perry if you would like to sign up as a blood drive volunteer.  

ESPORTS - For those that are interested in Esports for the spring season, a meeting will be held in Room 403 this Thursday, January 9th after school around 3:15. Players from the fall season are strongly encouraged to attend.

STEAM OPPORTUNITIES

• DLN/Baker College Engineering Sponsorship - DLN Integrated Systems in cooperation with Baker College is offering a sponsorship to a deserving Catholic Central senior student. The program is a revolving internship/college degree program.  Students will spend 8 weeks attending Baker College followed by 8 weeks of Internship at DLN over the course of a year. DLN will cover the cost of college tuition as well as pay students for the Internship work. Please contact Julie VanderMolen for more information, julievandermolen@grcatholiccentral.org
• Two Spring Internships at the Diocese of Grand Rapids Catholic Schools - Available to a junior or senior at Catholic Central High School. In cooperation with the Admissions Office, interns will work at the Diocese during Learning Lab Carriers or afterschool for 3 to 5 hours a week. Opportunities include:

• Marketing & Communications
  • Conduct inquiry calls & engage with potential families
  • Create social media content & blog posts
  • Research & provide insights on marketing strategies
• Videographer
  • Film, edit, and produce high-quality video content
  • Collaborate on creative projects to enhance marketing campaigns
